John Dory is a saltwater fish, with a narrow disk-shaped body and spines on its back fin. The legend is that the dark spots on each side are St. Peter’s thumbprints from when he returned the fish back to the water. Its fillets have a fine white flesh and a firm, flaky texture. John Dory’s delicate, slightly sweet melt-in-your-mouth flavour is what makes the John Dory so popular with our customer. These are skin-on fillets, for your convenience, each – roughly 100-200 grams, and they come in 800g pack.
John Dory Fillets are a good source of protein, while low in fats, none of which is saturated. It contains a decent amount of Omega-3 fatty acids which can be beneficial to the heart and brain health. John Dory fish is rich in vitamins D, B-6, B-12, niacin and riboflavin, important for bone strength, active metabolism and good mental health.
John Dory is considered a fine delicacy and it can be prepared in many ways: sauteed, baked, steamed, poached, or even fried. Try our delicious recipe for Tempura John Dory with Mushy peas or pan-fry with mussels! Best paired with Californian or Australian Chardonnay.

We deliver across most of mainland UK using trusted overnight courier services.
Please note that some remote areas, including parts of northern and western Scotland, may incur an additional delivery surcharge where next-day delivery cannot be guaranteed.

If a delivery is left without a signature, parcels are left at the customer’s risk. Unless otherwise instructed, drivers may leave orders in a safe place, out of sight where possible.
Our minimum order value is £30.
If we anticipate any issue affecting your selected delivery date, we will contact you as soon as possible to arrange a suitable alternative. Please ensure someone is available to accept delivery or provide clear safe-place instructions.
Our stock system is designed to display live availability wherever possible. However, in the rare event that an item becomes unavailable before dispatch, we may substitute it with the closest suitable alternative. Any price difference will be refunded accordingly.

We use DPD courier services for all UK deliveries.
Orders must be placed before 2pm for next-day delivery eligibility. Deliveries typically arrive by 6pm.
To make ordering as simple as possible, our checkout only displays available delivery dates based on your location and order.
You’ll be able to select a delivery day that suits you, and any additional charges will be clearly shown before checkout.
Orders are carefully prepared and packed the evening before dispatch. On the day of delivery, DPD will send a notification with your allocated one-hour delivery window.

While over 99% of deliveries arrive on time, occasional courier delays can happen. In the unlikely event your order is delayed by one day, your items will remain protected in temperature-controlled packaging designed to withstand short transit delays. By placing an order, customers acknowledge that deliveries may occasionally arrive up to one day later than scheduled. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for full details.
Courier procedures have changed significantly in recent years, and while drivers will often knock or ring the doorbell, this cannot always be guaranteed.
Delivery updates are usually sent via text message or email, so we recommend keeping an eye on your notifications on the day of delivery.
If your parcel has not arrived within the advised delivery window, please contact us and we’ll investigate with the courier on your behalf. We actively monitor consignments and will always contact customers if we become aware of any issues affecting delivery.
