Baby Octopus looks visually stunning when cooked. Purple-tinged arms curl and twist into an eye-catching swirl that looks more like a sculpture in an art museum than a meal on a plate! They are soft and chewy with a pronounced, meaty seafood flavour. It’s usually suggested to cook them at a relatively low temperature so that they remain chewy and don’t toughen up or dry out.
Baby octopus is a great source of omega 3, It also contains vitamin D and vitamin A. Omega 3 is essential for the body because it can help in the normal growth of skin tissue, hair, muscles, nerves, and eyes. If you have a baby octopus in your house then you can eat it to make your child healthy. Omega 3 is a fatty acid that comes from fish oil or vegetable oil. Omega 3 has been shown to help reduce the risk of heart disease by slowing down the progression of atherosclerosis. It also lowers triglycerides, cholesterol, and blood pressure.
Our baby octopi are sourced from Thailand. These are small gutted Octopus and are between 40-60 count in a kilo bag. Serve with an aromatic New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc white wine or try a bold Cabernet Sauvignon red wine which really suits Octopus.
